FINAL UPDATE TO THIS POST: Have new computer WITH Vista and, you know what? Vista is pretty darn cool. XP took 2 weeks to tame, but I’ve about got this configured the way I want it in just a few hours. So far so good.

UPDATE: I’m still checking email about twice a day. Meanwhile, scrambling to find a computer I want. We’ll see how this all goes. I’m trying to avoid Vista.
This is a semi-emergency notice. My computer is malfunctioning, and I might not be able to get online or even get to my email until some remedy can be found. …Yes, all manuscripts are backed up. That’s always a priority. Nothing to worry about there. But changing computers is going to be extremely difficult because of all the DSL settings and then there are all the mail settings. I’m on Verizon here, and these things become difficult — very. They were the last time, and I’m sure it will be this time, too. So…I’ll be on when I can, how I can, and just hope I can remember all my passwords.
