This was all done with stills, some 3000 of them. Cool!

Wow, that is cool!
I love the neutral tones with the splashes of black and red, also.

All authors are deluded, I’m afraid. The chances of getting an agent or major publisher right now pretty much zero. Even if you self-pub, selling books is close to zero.
I guess we’ve all got to hunker down and wait for the economy to return to get anything published these days.
Subbing to agents is now an exercise in futility. Will they want anything? Of course not, but they’re idiots since the same-old-same-old is just that. One more Meyers ripoff teen vampire schtick will not attract anybody.
On the other hand, anything original and interesting won’t sell either. The powers that be are running scared. They wouldn’t know quality from shinola.
When it comes down to it, self-pubbing may be the only thing to do. At least your book will be out in the world and available to the hungry readers.
Hmmm. I think this comment belongs on the next article, but it’s a good conversation. I’m beginning to think that self-publishing might be the next great wave in book publishing, simply because nobody wants to invest in new authors. I don’t know. I have to ponder this more. Thanks, Marva.
Yes, it’s getting scary. I’ve stopped querying all together, apart from the package I sent to Dorchester. I’m done until the economy improves and publishers stop axing their people. I’ll keep writing. Hopefully, next spring, maybe summer, things will be looking better all over. I’ll have a few books written, edited, and ready to query. For now, I’m hunkering down. Self publishing would be wonderful if I had the time and resources, but I don’t.
